Back pain, herniated disc, sciatica
Pain located in the dorsal area is an extremely frequent problem, it affects millions of people
and all age categories:
Generally benign, these pains can sometimes become very impactful in daily life; when the
discomfort is significant, it usually leads to consulting a health professional, doctor or
physiotherapist.
Common back pain should not be confused with sciatica, or sciatic pain. This corresponds to
a diffuse pain of the lower limb, localised along the path of the sciatic nerve (i.e. starting
from the lower back or buttock, and radiating into the leg, sometimes to the foot). On the
contrary, back pain, as its name suggests, is limited to the back region.
